Announcing the Final Service at Simcoe Street United Church
Hello to the folks of Simcoe Street United Church and our many friends and neighbours. It is with a measure of sorrow that we announce that our final service of worship at Simcoe Street as a community of faith will take place on April 14, 2024 at 10:30am.
All are welcome to this gathering of reflection and celebration. It will be a time to listen and sing along with the old Organ and to share some memories, some of our historical roots and the ministry of the congregation over the years, fellowship and also to gather up a few old possessions to carry to our new church home at Kingsview United Church as we begin life with them the following Sunday, April 21, 2024.
We thank everyone and indeed old families of Oshawa for their support and care for 8 generations.
Thank Offering – an opportunity to give thanks for all of the ministry that has taken place here at the corner of Simcoe and Bagot Streets for over 150 years. If you wish to make a special offering as a tangible expression of thanks for the ministries of this place over the last 157 years it would be greatly appreciated. In addition to showing your thanks for our ministries, your offering will assist with meeting our final expenses as we prepare to move to our new church home. You may place your offering on the collection plate on Sundays, through email transfer to simcoest@bellnet.ca, or mail it to the church office anytime between now and April 21st. Thank you for your continuing support.
